This set is named after Ena Bertoldi, whose  legacy rests in how she bridged the world of live spectacle with the birth of cinema. As one of the earliest women ever filmed, her contortion acts in Edison’s 1890s kinetoscope reels gave audiences their first glimpse of a female body moving on screen, not as a static photograph, but in motion.

Though her personal life was marked by hardship and an early death, she became a silent pioneer: a working-class British woman whose athleticism and artistry shaped the visual vocabulary of both vaudeville and early film. Today, film historians view her as a forgotten trailblazer who helped prove that performance ~especially women’s performance~ belonged at the center of cinema’s earliest experiments.

This set is double layered with a dead-stock rayon spandex fabric topped with the most beautiful stretch lace.

The top has adjustable straps for optimal support and the shorts are the comfiest things ever and the best hot pants

Could very easily be dressed up or down! Originally made to pair with the Charrise skirt but is also adorable on its own!
