This skirt is named after Cyd Charisse, born in 1922, she was a classically trained ballerina who became one of Hollywood’s most iconic dancers of the Golden Age of musicals. Known for her impossibly long legs and sultry grace, she starred alongside legends like Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly in films such as Singin’ in the Rain and The Band Wagon. Her wardrobe consisted of slinky gowns, dramatic skirts, and body-skimming costumes designed to move with her, and it set new standards for glamour, influencing mid-century fashion’s fascination with fluidity, sensuality, and precision tailoring. Charisse’s legacy lies in how she merged athletic strength with high femininity, leaving behind an image of elegance in motion that continues to inspire both fashion designers and performers. It was a no brainer who this piece needed to be named after!
This skirt is so amazing and can be worn on its own, as a layering piece over our Bertoldi set or break-free shorts, used to enhance any silhouette, or with a slip!
Made with dead-stock tulle, lace, and satin fabric this skirt is sure to make you want to go out dancing!
Horse hair lines the bottom hem in order to hold its beautiful shape! Buttons are adorning the side with cutest button loops made out of the tulle.
We only have enough fabric to make about 40 of these skirts so get it while you can!
Model is 5’2 and wearing a size small, it can be worn low waisted or high waisted!
For high waisted we suggest sizing down and for low waisted we suggest true to size!
Will ship out mid november
