The “Josephine”

$100.00

This piece is named after Josephine Baker- the absolute blue print! She rose to fame in the 1920’s moving from Missouri-to- Harlem - to Paris where she became one the most highly paid entertainers of the time.

Not only did she inspire countless fashion and dance trends (she can be linked back to one of the main inspirations for vogueing), but she was also a spy for the French resistance movement in World War II, using her star power to her advantage.

She was also heavily involved in the civil rights movement, organizing protests, refusing to perform for segregated audiences, and even speaking with MLK at the March on Washington.

Her story shows the power that artists and entertainers have to shape the world for the better!

We named this top after her because like Mrs. Baker was a woman of many talents, this top is versatile and can be worn many different ways!

This top comes in two different color ways, pink and purple and white and black. It originated as a poncho/skirt and then we quickly became aware of all the other ways you can wear it too!

Made with deadstock chiffon and tulle!

Models are  5’10 and 5’2 both wearing a size small, very adjustable which is why there is only 2 sizes :)

This piece will be shipped out mid November.
